Wine & Food Pairing: A Taste of Maryland on Thursday, June 25th!
Let your tastebuds rejoice and join Running Hare Vineyard for a 5 course wine and food pairing experience! You will be guided through each course and wine pairing as you enjoy the scenery of the vineyard. This is an exclusive event you won't want to miss! This event will take place inside our Tuscan Villa. Please arrive before 6:00 PM to get settled before the tasting begins.
Please note that tasting glassware is not included in the ticket price. If you would like to keep your tasting glass, it will be available for purchase at the bar following the event.
Course 1 - Maryland Crab Soup
Paired with Sauvignon Blanc: Delicate aromas of honeysuckle and ripe melon lead to a crisp palate bursting with flavors of honeydew and bright citrus, finishing with a zesty hint of grapefruit.
Course 2 - Eastern Shore Coddies- Mini Cod Cakes served with Mustard & Crackers
Paired with Royal Blush: A delightful off-dry rosé, where the sweetness dances with lively acidity, showcasing the bright, juicy flavor of strawberry
Course 3 - Baltimore Pit Beef Sliders with Tiger Sauce and Shaved Onion on Potato Slider Rolls served with Old Bay Chips & Pickles
Paired with The Magician: Aged in a blend of French and American oak, this medium-bodied red blend opens with a cocoa-forward bouquet layered with notes of tobacco and ripe Bing cherry. On the palate, dark fruit and subtle spice unfold with balanced structure, leading to a smooth finish highlighted by supple tannins and a touch of leathery complexity.
Course 4 - Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Sautéed Fresh Green Beans & Union Stout Mac & Cheese
Paired with Blanco: A taste of Maryland sunshine, this white blend opens with a fragrant honeysuckle nose, transitioning to a refreshing tartness of cantaloupe and peach, and ultimately leaving a smooth, elegant impression on the palate.
course 5 - The Original Smith Island Cake- 10 Yellow Cake and Chocolate Icing layers
Paired with Jack Rabbit Red: This unique Concord and Rougeon blend presents a gentle sweetness, intertwined with dark berry nuances, and a crisp, tart grape finish.
