Bourbon, Whiskey, & Cigar Tasting on February 18th

Come out to try some delicious barrel-aged bourbons/whiskeys and cigars. A night to relax and savor!

Ticket includes a tasting of 8 bourbons/whiskeys and 1 complimentary cigar provided by Smoke Showing Cigar Company.

Floyd “Beau” Wheeler from The Free State Distillery, Inc will be conducting the bourbon tasting. As Maryland’s only Executive Bourbon Steward as certified by the Stave & Thief Society, he will educate you on all things bourbon which will leave you tasting the delicious spirit like a pro! 

Additional bourbon/whiskey and cigars will be available for purchase. Wine, beer, and food will also be available.

This event will be in the Tuscan Villa from 7:00-10:00pm.  Please park in the gravel lot and walk up the main steps. 

This is a 21+ Event.

Food will be available for purchase.

Outside alcohol is not allowed.

The Free State Society, Inc. was founded with the intent to use “happy hour culture” to expand the knowledge and wonders of spirits and create impactful experiences for its members. Floyd “Beau” Wheeler is an author and spirits enthusiast with a hard lean towards America’s official native spirit, Bourbon. He is a career educator with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in education and Executive post-graduate studies in Strategy & Innovation. Mr. Wheeler is currently Maryland’s only Executive Bourbon Steward as certified by the Stave & Thief Society, and the only current private instructor in Maryland able to provide Bourbon Steward Certification. Founded in 2014, and is the first bourbon certification program recognized by the bourbon industry and the only to be recognized by the Kentucky Distillers Association as its "Official Bourbon Education Course." He is also a Level 2 Spirits Certified by the Wine and Spirits Education Trust via the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. In February 2023, Beau will also sit for the “Distintivo T” granted by El Consejo Regulador del Tequila es un Organismo. The only organization with global authority to carry out activities as a verification unit and certification body for Tequila product certification. Mr. Wheeler is currently in the process of launching a distillery in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Alex Hamburger began Smoke Showing Cigar Company in 2020 as a way of providing high quality cigars with a unique delivery method to an area that was lacking in access to premium cigars.  Alex believes face-to-face interactions are the cornerstone of the cigar world.  As more cigar shops close and cigar sales move to the internet, Alex found a way to keep that necessary tradition alive with his mobile shop.  As a 16+ year veteran of the cigar world, Alex brings his personal background to your cigar experience. As the previous promotional manager of a well established downtown Annapolis cigar shop, Alex gained a wealth of knowledge that he enjoys sharing with each and every one of his customers. In addition to the cigar shop, Alex protects life and property as a Professional Firefighter/Paramedic for a major metropolitan career fire department, located between Anne Arundel County and Washington DC.  He originally grew his fanbase and became the department’s go-to “Cigar Man,” with his travel humidors as much of a part of his work gear as his fire helmet.
